How to copy an account from another server in cPanel?

Posted on: October 23, 2014

This lesson will teach you on how to copy an account from another server with cPanel in it.

  • This feature uses the cPanel API to generate a backup of the account and transfer it to the server for restoration.

Note: If you are able to create a full backup, it is much preferable to do so and restore the backup file via Restore a full backup/cpmove.

Steps:

1) Login to the server WHM.

2) Go to ‘Transfers’ and click on ‘Copy an Account From Another Server With an Account Password’.

3) Enter details:

3a) The Hostname/IP address of the remote server.

3b) Username: account name

3c) Password: account password

4) Click on ‘copy the account’.

Now the connection to the remote server will be established and the backup will be generated on our server. Do not close the WHM during this process.

5) Once the restoration is completed, you will be greeted with a ‘Restoration success’ message.
